Asahikawa Ramen Village

In August 1996, the “Asahikawa Ramen Village” was established by Asahikawa ramen lovers. (Ramen is Chinese noodles converted to Japanese-style)
By covering the surface of the ramen soup with oil to keep the heat in the ramen, people can enjoy hot ramen even on bitterly cold days. In order to make the soup be effectively mingled with the noodles, twisted, whitish and slightly dried noodles are used. Since people in the north like a thick and strong taste, pork bones and sea food, such as dried small sardines, etc are used for the soy sauce based soup.
Asahikawa ramen has gradually developed through the predecessors’ efforts and ideas.
